With over 150 million items in its collection, the British Library is one of the world’s largest libraries. As well as books and manuscripts, it holds a wide range of maps, prints and drawings, newspapers, magazines, music scores and patents. The British Library also holds oral history recordings, some of which relate to Dumfries and Galloway, including conversations recorded by Radio Scotland in Stranraer and Wigtown about accent and dialect.
